Princetown

Princetown is the highest village within Dartmoor National Park, and just about at its heart.

It is the home of Dartmoor Prison, once incarcerating category A criminals such as the Kray brothers. These days however Princetown is known for a good many more enticing reasons. Dartmoor Brewery is situated within the village, concocting beers such as Jail Ale and Dartmoor IPA.

In virtually every direction you can pick up a walking or cycling route, head off to the River Dart at nearby Dartmeet or marvel at the number of tors and wild landscape. However, for more inspiration and a wander around the gallery, head to the High Moorland Visitor Centre right in the centre of the village. Here you can purchase maps, find out what events are taking place and check the military firing times too!

Location

Princetown is just a two-minute drive from Bachelor's Hall. Just 0.6 miles away this makes a great 15 minute walk, which allows you to explore a local town, with a lot of history.
