Adventures for life

Front of Bachelor's Hall

Overview

Bachelor's Hall is set in a beautiful secluded valley in the centre of Dartmoor National Park. The 16th century former farm offers guests a unique sense of remoteness and isolation, whilst only being one mile from the small town of Princetown, the highest town on Dartmoor at 1400 feet above sea level.

Bachelor's Hall is perfect for residentials, Duke of Edinburgh groups, large family get-togethers or a reunion of friends. Everyone can experience the freedom of the moor, the vastness of the landscape and the closeness to the abundant wildlife.

Owned by the Duchy of Cornwall, Bachelor’s Hall was previously used as a youth hostel for many years, until it was leased to our Trust in 2019 and completely refurbished. Bachelor's Hall sleeps 56 across six rooms and two outdoor pods. It is heated throughout, so it's cosy and warm even on the coldest of days.

There's a fully equipped commercial kitchen, a separate large dining room which doubles up as a classroom, a drying room,  picnic area, parking for eight cars or four minibuses and Wi-Fi throughout, five toilets (including disabled facilities), five showers (including disabled facilities) and a drop down projector screen.

Outdoor activities can be organised on request.
